Morning Shake Hack

No more complaining about how hard it is to fix your healthy shakes in the morning.  After you hear about my easy steps there are no excuses.  Yes, it does take some planning but if you do this every Saturday or Sunday after a farmers market run, you are set for the week or better yet the whole month.   Juice it and freeze it into ice cube trays.  This makes it so easy to blend up the perfect amount each morning before work.  The recipes are on my tab “VItamix recipes”.  No you don’t have to own a Vitamix but it’s the best $500.00 you will ever spend on your health.  I promise!!!!!!   Other blenders can be substituted however you will not get quite the same results.  Try this hack for your morning shakes and your life will be so much easier.  Again it’s just about juicing the greens and freezing them for ease of use.  No nutrients are lost in this process as you are freezing at the peak of freshness.

Healthy Kale Shake Ingredients:

1 cup liquid like almond milk, hemp milk, silk, even water:

Stay away from juice it’s too much sugar

1/4 cup blueberries or a dark berry:

Buy in bulk while in season at the local farmers market or your big box store and just put them into a ziplock bag and freeze.  They will stay all winter long in your freezer

1 cup kale or kale mixed with other greens:

Fill your blender with 1/2 cup water and to the top with the kale, not completely smashing so it can incorporate.  Then pour into ice cube trays (you will need several trays)  and freeze over nigh.  Now remove from trays and put into a ziplock.  Add 2 to 3 cubs to your shake each morning and your set.  You should buy 4-5 pounds of kale at a time and freeze so each morning there is no kale washing and measuring.  This will ensure you at least a few weeks of time savings.  It’s a true time saver and money saver.

20 grams protein powder:

I buy this in bulk at Whole Foods it’s much less expensive than buying prepackaged powders.  Then read the label to understand how much to put in, to equal 20 grams…yes you will need to do math.

1 tablespoon chia seeds:

This helps you to stay hydrated during the day

1 tablespoon flax seed:

This keeps you regular among other healthy benefits

Directions:

  1. Put all into blender and mix until smooth

YUMMY!!!!!!!!
